Description

The new Massachusetts IEP format emphasizes a more collaborative, student-centered process. This 2-part interactive workshop will focus on how to shape your evaluation practices to align with the intent and structure of the new IEP—streamlining your process while increasing your impact. We’ll explore how to identify and report on what matters most for student access, participation, and progress in their educational setting. You’ll leave with practical strategies for writing more efficient, relevant evaluations and contributing meaningful information to a collaborative team process that leads to stronger, more actionable IEPs.

Course Objectives

By the end of this 2-part workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify what to prioritize in their OT/PT evaluations to focus on what matters most for student access, participation, and progress in the school setting.
  2. Align evaluation findings and written reports with the IEP framework to support a meaningful, strengths-based and student-centered approach to collaborative IEP development.
  3. Contribute effectively during IEP meetings to support collaborative process and shared implementation planning, including development of academic and functional goals with services in natural school contexts.
