Presenter Bio(s) | Jacqueline LeSage is the Special Education Director for the ACCEPT Collaborative. A graduate of Suffolk University and William James College in clinical psychology, she has been lucky to know what she wanted to do, help people, since a young age. Jackie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has worked with children, adolescents, and families for over 20 years. Her background includes work as a School Adjustment Counselor, Clinical Director for Department of Children and Families residential group homes, outpatient therapist, and the last 6 years working as a Special Education Administrator. Jackie is passionate about empowering youth, their families, and those that work with youth and their families. |
Description | This training is designed for team leaders to elevate their expertise in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. The focus will be on professional best practices before, during, and after the IEP meeting. We will also discuss some communication and conflict-resolution techniques to skillfully manage difficult or sensitive topics and build genuine partnership with parents and guardians, ensuring a high-quality, individualized program for every student and the team they are working with. |
