Teacher - Intensive Special Needs
ACCEPT Collaborative is a leading provider of Special Education services for school districts in the MetroWest. We have an opening for a full time secondary level Teacher-Intensive Special Needs with Massachusetts Licensure.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Special Education
- Massachusetts Teacher’s Licensure, intensive special needs
- Minimum two (2) years relevant experience
- Commitment to remain current in field
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find appropriate and in conformity with state and federal requirements.
Reports to: The Director of Special Education
Job Goal: To develop and implement educational programs for students with disabilities.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Conduct educational assessments, write reports and present findings at Team meetings.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs for each student assigned
- Prepare quarterly progress reports
- Collaborate with related service providers and coordinate services for assigned students
- Provide information and support to parents and District liaisons as appropriate.
- Coordinate completion of progress reports and Team meeting materials with related service providers
- Prepare and plan for instruction that aligns with State Frameworks and IEPs
- Prepare appropriate MCAS alternate portfolios
- Maintain an environment conducive to learning.
- Provide a safe environment for all children.
- Actively participate in all staff meetings.
- Communicate with building administrators to address critical student issues.
- Inform the Director of Special Education of all concerns involving students and their welfare.
- Maintain daily record of students activities and behaviors
- Provide direction and supervision of all Teaching Assistants assigned to the class
- Prepare purchase orders and assumes responsibility for maintaining necessary equipment and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Teacher position is full time.
