ACCEPT Center for Transition (ACT )

ACT is designed for high school students and young adults, this program provides the opportunity
for individuals to explore a variety of educational and occupational opportunities. They learn the
realities of the workplace and develop technical skills and individual qualities that are required
to succeed in the community.
 
As a component of ACCEPT’s comprehensive vocational training continuum, ACT provides
simulated job training and career exploration based on individual interests, aptitudes, and
abilities as well as the realities of the job market. ACT also provides vocational assessments to
identify vocational preferences and potential.
 
 

Transition Services

Transition services are a coordinated set of activities that may include instruction, community
experiences, employment opportunities, and the development of independent living skills.
The goal is the successful transition from school to work or college. The process includes
identifying individual strengths in all domains and development of goals for next steps based
on these strengths. The focus of the goals is the successful preparation for and transition
to adult living. ACT works with students, families, schools and community agencies to provide
services in support of a successful transition.
